Jean Starr's personal heaven would be filled with dogs and flowers. For 40 years, she's done her best to create that heaven, growing thousands of plants, both indoors and out, and always joined by at least two dogs. She's even become a cat parent.
Jean specializes in the unusual, giving preference to blooming plants. She sees a dead plant not as a failure but an opportunity to either try it again or to get something else.
Vacations always focus on some aspect of gardening, and usually a coastline of some kind.
I've been doing the best I can in this garden with its dwindling sunlight, still growing dozens of plants for the first time, just to keep up with my floral fancy.
